Business leaders today recognize the importance of corporate citizenship and giving back to the local community is an essential element.
The Community Foundation of Marshall County works with businesses in Marshall County to create corporate giving programs that meet the needs of businesses while providing expert philanthropic guidance.
Elements of your giving plan can include the following options:
Corporate Fund
We provide professional investment management and perform accounting duties, while adding visibility to your organization’s charitable interests. A committee of leaders from your organization is able to direct where grants from your fund are distributed. Grants can be made to local, national and international organizations.
Tax Benefits
When your business establishes a corporate fund through the Community Foundation of Marshall County, you receive immediate tax benefits, even if the funds are distributed at a later date. Giving through the Foundation provides access to Endow Iowa Tax Credits, a 25% Iowa tax credit in addition to normal federal deductions for certain charitable gifts.
Corporate Scholarship Funds
Your business can support students studying in your field through a named corporate scholarship fund. You have flexibility to advise the fund, name an advisory committee or allow the Community Foundation of Marshall County to select students based on your criteria. Whatever your preference, the Foundation will handle the administrative responsibilities and ensures scholarships are distributed according to tax rules and regulations.
Philanthropic Guidance
The Community Foundation of Marshall County will be a resource to your company. We have knowledge of local nonprofit organizations and community needs and our team can share best giving practices with your charitable committee.
